Overview

Transrotor Metropolis FMD

Gramofon Transrotor Metropolis Fmd. Gramofon Manualny - Opinie i ceny na Ceneo.pl

The Pinnacle of Transrotor

The Metropolis FMD is a remarkable expression of Transrotor's approach to analog playback: substantial materials, exposed mechanical engineering, and an unmistakable architectural presence.

Constructed from chrome-plated or gold-plated brass and acrylic, the Metropolis is designed around a cardanically mounted turntable assembly. Its gimbal-style suspension allows the assembly to move independently of its supporting structure, addressing vibrations transmitted through the installation.

A sandwich-construction platter, continuously adjustable tonearm base, and Free Magnet Drive system complete an exceptionally sophisticated analog platform.

The result is a turntable that makes its engineering part of its visual identity. Every element, from the suspended assembly to the polished brass structure, contributes to a machine that is as compelling to examine as it is to operate.

A Suspended Mechanical Architecture

The Metropolis uses a cardanically mounted turntable assembly rather than a conventional fixed chassis.

This gimbal-style arrangement allows movement relative to the supporting structure, providing a mechanical approach to managing vibrations originating from the floor or equipment support.

The suspension is central to the Metropolis design—not an accessory added beneath an otherwise traditional turntable.

Brass, Acrylic, and a Distinctive Platter

The chassis combines acrylic with brass finished in either chrome or gold plating. A sandwich-construction platter complements the substantial supporting structure, while a matching chrome or gold record weight completes the presentation.

The materials are deliberately visible. Rather than concealing its mechanical construction within a cabinet, the Metropolis presents it as an integral part of the design.

Free Magnet Drive

The Metropolis incorporates Transrotor's Free Magnet Drive technology and a dedicated Konstant FMD power supply housed in a special enclosure.

FMD uses magnetic coupling to transfer rotational energy without direct mechanical contact between the coupled drive components. The system is designed to reduce the transmission of unwanted drive-related vibration.

The dedicated power supply is part of the Metropolis's specified equipment, not an additional purchase required to complete the basic drive system.

Configured Around Your Tonearm

The Metropolis features a continuously adjustable tonearm base with height adjustment, providing flexibility when selecting and installing the tonearm.

Tonearm and cartridge selection should be approached as part of the complete analog system, taking into account the preferred cartridge, phono preamplifier, and listening priorities.

Transrotor's published product specifications do not establish a standard included tonearm or cartridge, so neither should be represented as part of the base package without distributor confirmation.
