The Synergistic Research SRX PowerCell 14 is a reference-level AC power conditioner designed for sophisticated high-end audio systems. Incorporating the electromagnetic-cell architecture developed for Synergistic Research's flagship SRX PowerCell, it combines fourteen AC outlets, three isolated power banks, extensive pure-silver internal wiring and advanced active electromagnetic-field conditioning in a compact chassis.

At its heart are seven full-size SRX electromagnetic cells and a dedicated auxiliary cell, providing a combined electromagnetic coupling area of 7,586 square centimeters. Each full-size cell is handcrafted using an air-dielectric construction and enclosed in carbon fiber.

The SRX PowerCell 14 also incorporates approximately thirty feet of 6N pure-silver internal wiring, a redesigned ultra-low-frequency (ULF) generator, DC biasing and an advanced grounding architecture. Its three isolated outlet banks provide flexibility for connecting digital sources, analog components and compatible high-current amplification.

Every SRX PowerCell 14 includes a six-foot SRX XL AC power cable. This is the model's standard bundled cable, rather than an optional upgrade from an entry-level cord.

Flagship SRX Electromagnetic-Cell Architecture

The SRX PowerCell 14 uses the electromagnetic-cell geometry, materials and UEF compounds developed for Synergistic Research's larger flagship SRX PowerCell.

Its design incorporates seven full-size SRX electromagnetic cells, together with an additional auxiliary cell intended to condition the electromagnetic environment surrounding the main cells.

The full-size cells are individually handcrafted, use air-dielectric construction and are enclosed in carbon fiber.

With a published coupling area of 7,586 cm², the SRX PowerCell 14 offers substantially greater electromagnetic-cell surface area than the standard PowerCell 14.

Synergistic Research developed this architecture to address unwanted electrical and electromagnetic interference while maintaining the current delivery required by compatible audio equipment.

The company also describes the cells as having energy-storage characteristics intended to support transient current demands. It associates this technology with improvements in perceived dynamics, low-level resolution, soundstage presentation and background quietness.

These are the manufacturer's stated performance characteristics. Audible results will vary with the connected components, electrical installation and listening environment.

Fourteen Outlets Across Three Isolated Banks

This architecture allows compatible audio components to be grouped according to their power requirements and intended use.

A reference system might include a network streamer, music server and DAC; a turntable power supply and phono preamplifier; and a line-stage preamplifier with separate power amplifiers. The three-bank arrangement provides flexibility for organizing these components within one conditioner.

Synergistic Research designed the isolated banks to address unwanted electrical interaction between connected components. The manufacturer also incorporates pure-silver star-grounding conductors as part of the internal distribution system.

The appropriate outlet assignments should be based on the equipment's electrical requirements and the labeling on the actual unit.

Nearly One Pound of 6N Pure-Silver Internal Wiring

One of the SRX PowerCell 14's defining construction features is its extensive use of pure silver.

Synergistic Research specifies approximately thirty feet of point-to-point 6N pure-silver wiring, totaling nearly one pound of silver.

The internal conductors are based on the company's SRX cable technology and are incorporated into the power-distribution and star-grounding architecture.

This construction distinguishes the SRX PowerCell 14 from the standard PowerCell 14, which uses Silver Matrix internal wiring.

The pure-silver conductors work alongside the electromagnetic cells, active biasing system and grounding architecture as part of the SRX model's overall design.

Redesigned SRX ULF Generator and DC Biasing

The SRX PowerCell 14 incorporates the active power supply and ultra-low-frequency generator developed for the flagship SRX PowerCell.

Synergistic Research revised how the ULF and DC-bias systems interact with its electromagnetic cells, including changes to the frequencies used and their phase relationships.

The architecture also incorporates 24K gold UEF tuning circuits.

According to the manufacturer, these technologies are intended to provide more precise control over electromagnetic-cell biasing and allow listeners to experiment with different tuning presentations.

Three Frequency-Bias Settings

These settings allow owners to experiment with the manufacturer's intended tuning characteristics according to their equipment, room and listening preferences.

Advanced UEF Ground Plane Technology

The SRX PowerCell 14 incorporates a grounding architecture derived from Synergistic Research's Galileo SX Ground Plane technology.

The internal grounding network works alongside the active electromagnetic cells, ULF generator and DC-bias circuitry.

Its construction includes a 99.995% pure-silver ground strap with a published surface area of 62 square centimeters.

Synergistic Research designed the Ground Plane system to address unwanted electrical noise associated with the grounding network and support its active electromagnetic-field conditioning architecture.

Dedicated Active Ground Block Connection

The SRX PowerCell 14 also provides a dedicated connection for a compatible Synergistic Research Active Ground Block.

This allows customers to expand the grounding system without occupying one of the fourteen AC outlets.

For listeners assembling a complete Synergistic Research system, the dedicated connection provides an additional integration option. The Active Ground Block is sold separately.

Additional 5V USB Power Outputs

In addition to its fourteen AC outlets, the SRX PowerCell 14 provides two 5V USB outputs powered by an internal linear power supply.

These outputs are intended for compatible Synergistic Research accessories, including certain FEQ and Atmosphere products.

They allow customers to power compatible accessories without requiring additional AC power supplies.

Machined Aluminum and Carbon-Fiber Construction

Synergistic Research developed the enclosure to manage mechanical resonance and accommodate the electromagnetic environment associated with its internal cells.

The design houses the full-size SRX electromagnetic cells, active power supply, ULF generator, grounding network and fourteen-outlet distribution architecture.

A front-mounted meter and top-mounted circuit viewing window reveal elements of the conditioner's operation and internal construction.

Customizable Illumination

The front meter and top viewing window feature adjustable illumination.

Synergistic Research identifies Galileo White, Synergistic Research Blue, Dante Red and McIntosh Blue among the available lighting colors.

Owners can adjust the intensity or switch off the illumination entirely, allowing the conditioner to complement the appearance of the surrounding equipment and listening room.

Included Six-Foot SRX XL Power Cable

The cable is specifically paired with the conditioner's internal SRX electromagnetic-cell architecture and provides the incoming AC connection through its PowerCon connector.

Synergistic Research publishes a standalone MSRP of $13,000 for the included SRX XL cable.

Unlike the standard PowerCell 14, which has multiple bundled cable packages, the SRX PowerCell 14 is supplied with the SRX XL cable as standard. Atmosphere SX Euphoria and Galileo LUX cable packages should not be offered as alternatives for this model.

This creates a complete SRX power-conditioning package without requiring a separate cable purchase.
