Overview
Ortofon MC Cadenza Mono Moving Coil Phono Cartridge
True mono playback. Nude Fine Line stylus. 6NX pure silver coils.
The Ortofon MC Cadenza Mono is a dedicated moving coil cartridge engineered for mono microgroove vinyl records. Sharing its underlying construction with the Cadenza Red, it features adjustments specifically developed for mono playback, delivering a cohesive, natural presentation with precise groove tracking.
Its Nude Fine Line diamond stylus features an 8/40 µm profile mounted on a cylindrical aluminum cantilever. The coils use 6NX (99.9999%) pure silver wire, while an improved winding process supports consistent signal reproduction.
For easy integration into a stereo system, the output pins are internally connected to deliver the same mono signal through both channel pairs.

Designed for Mono Vinyl Collections
The MC Cadenza Mono is intended for both vintage and modern mono microgroove LPs. Its dedicated mono generator and internally connected output pins allow listeners to enjoy mono recordings through a conventional stereo playback system without needing a separate mono-only signal path.
The Nude Fine Line stylus is designed for microgroove vinyl records. It is not a specialized stylus for wider-groove 78 RPM shellac records.
Compatibility & Installation
The MC Cadenza Mono uses standard ½-inch mounting and requires a compatible tonearm. Its 0.45 mV output calls for a suitable moving coil phono stage or an appropriately matched step-up transformer and phono preamplifier.
Ortofon specifies a recommended tracking force of 2.5 grams and a load impedance of 50–500 ohms.
