Ortofon MC Quintet Bronze Moving Coil Phono Cartridge

The Ortofon MC Quintet Bronze brings a more sophisticated stylus design to the Quintet Series. Its Nude Fine Line diamond features an 8/40 µm profile, allowing it to trace fine groove information with precision. The extended contact profile is designed to reduce distortion and record wear while retrieving subtle musical details.
A neodymium magnet system, high-purity copper coils, and a rigid cartridge body provide the foundation for accurate moving coil playback. With an 80 µm tracking ability and a frequency response of ±1.5 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, the Quintet Bronze is engineered for detailed, balanced reproduction across a wide range of music.

What Makes the Quintet Bronze Different?
The MC Quintet Bronze replaces the Blue's Nude Elliptical stylus with a Nude Fine Line diamond. Its 8/40 µm profile provides a longer groove-contact surface than the Blue's 8/18 µm profile.
The Bronze also uses a lower-output, lower-impedance generator and achieves higher published tracking ability and channel separation.

Compatibility & Installation
The MC Quintet Bronze uses standard ½-inch mounting with threaded holes for secure installation. Ortofon includes 5 mm and 7 mm mounting screws to accommodate different headshell thicknesses.
Its low 0.3 mV output requires a compatible moving coil phono stage or an appropriately matched step-up transformer and phono preamplifier. Ortofon recommends a load impedance greater than 20 ohms and a tracking force of 2.3 grams.
