Ortofon MC Cadenza Red Moving Coil Phono Cartridge

The Ortofon MC Cadenza Red is a high-performance stereo moving coil cartridge designed to deliver a spacious, natural sound with excellent musical detail. Its Nude Fine Line diamond stylus features an 8/40 µm profile mounted on a cylindrical aluminum cantilever, providing precise groove contact and accurate tracking.
The cartridge uses 6NX (99.9999%) pure silver coil wire and an improved winding process designed to enhance channel balance. Its aluminum and stainless-steel body provides a rigid foundation for the generator, while the 0.45 mV output makes it suitable for appropriately matched moving coil phono stages.
Ortofon describes the Cadenza Red's sound as open and dynamic, with a touch of warmth, a cohesive presentation, and excellent stereo depth.

The Cadenza Red Difference
The MC Cadenza Red shares its basic construction with the Cadenza Mono but is designed for stereo playback. It uses a Nude Fine Line stylus, cylindrical aluminum cantilever, and 6NX pure silver coils.
Its 80 µm tracking ability is higher than the Mono's published 70 µm figure, while both models share a 0.45 mV output and recommended tracking force of 2.5 grams.
Compatibility & Installation
The MC Cadenza Red uses standard ½-inch mounting and requires a compatible tonearm. Its 0.45 mV output calls for a suitable moving coil phono stage or an appropriately matched step-up transformer and phono preamplifier.
Ortofon specifies a recommended tracking force of 2.5 grams and a load impedance of 50–500 ohms.
