Overview

Ortofon MC Windfeld Ti Moving Coil Phono Cartridge

Replicant 100 stylus. Boron cantilever. Titanium body.

The Ortofon MC Windfeld Ti is a reference-level moving coil cartridge designed to reproduce the finest details in your vinyl collection with exceptional clarity, dynamics, and precision.

Named in honor of Ortofon's former chief engineer, Per Windfeld, the MC Windfeld Ti advances the original Windfeld design with a Selective Laser Melting (SLM) titanium body that increases rigidity and controls unwanted vibration.

A specially polished Nude Replicant 100 diamond stylus, boron cantilever, Aucurum coils, and advanced magnetic and damping systems work together to deliver accurate groove tracking, an open soundstage, and lifelike musical reproduction.

Key Features

  • Nude Replicant 100 stylus: Specially polished 5/100 µm diamond profile for precise groove tracing.

  • Boron cantilever: Lightweight, rigid construction for accurate transmission of stylus movement.

  • SLM titanium body: Manufactured layer by layer for structural rigidity and internal damping.

  • Aucurum coils: Gold-plated 6NX oxygen-free copper coil wire.

  • Neodymium magnet system: Compact, powerful generator with a specially designed armature.

  • Field Stabilizing Element (FSE): Helps maintain magnetic-field stability and reduce dynamic distortion.

  • Wide Range Damping (WRD): Platinum-disc damping system designed to control resonance across the frequency range.

  • 90 µm tracking ability: Achieved at the recommended 2.3 g tracking force.

Advanced Cartridge Engineering

Specially Polished Replicant 100 Stylus

The MC Windfeld Ti uses Ortofon's Replicant 100 diamond, featuring an extended vertical contact surface designed to closely follow the shape of the original record-cutting stylus.

Its specially polished profile and rigid boron cantilever support accurate tracking and retrieval of subtle musical information.

Selective Laser Melted Titanium Body

Ortofon's SLM manufacturing process fuses titanium particles layer by layer to create a highly rigid cartridge structure. The design allows precise control over material density and internal damping, helping minimize unwanted vibration.

Field Stabilizing Element

The FSE maintains a more consistent magnetic field as the armature moves, helping reduce dynamic distortion and intermodulation while supporting channel separation.

Wide Range Damping

Ortofon's WRD system places a platinum disc between two rubber absorbers with different properties. This arrangement controls resonance across a broad frequency range and contributes to the cartridge's published 90 µm tracking ability.

Compatibility & Installation

The MC Windfeld Ti features standard ½-inch mounting and requires a compatible tonearm. Its low 0.2 mV output calls for a suitable moving coil phono stage or a properly matched step-up transformer.

Ortofon recommends a tracking force of 2.3 grams and a load impedance greater than 10 ohms. Proper cartridge alignment and tonearm setup are essential for achieving the intended performance of its Replicant 100 stylus.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Do you price match?

Yes. We match any authorised dealer, including big-box retailers. If you find the same product at a lower price, contact us and we'll match it.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — free shipping on every order, with 2-day delivery available on most products. Easy returns and exchanges are included.

Where is your showroom?

We're at 6362 Alder Drive, Houston, Texas. The showroom lets you hear and compare reference-level systems in person before making any decisions. If you're considering a larger purchase or installation, it's well worth the visit.

Can I buy online without visiting the showroom?

Yes. The full product range is available through the online store with free nationwide shipping. For more complex system builds, speaking with one of our advisers first tends to lead to a better result.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Special financing is available through the BrandSource Credit Card for qualifying purchases, allowing you to spread payments over time with no annual fee. Promotional rebate savings are also available periodically. See the financing page for full details.

Do you install systems as well as sell equipment?

Yes — installation is central to what we do. We design and install whole-home audio and video, home theaters, media rooms, outdoor audio, lighting and motorised shades, and full smart home automation.
