Overview

The Clarus Aqua MKII High-Current Power Cable is a premium audiophile AC power cord engineered for power amplifiers, integrated amplifiers, AV receivers, powered subwoofers, and high-performance power conditioners. Featuring Pure Continuous Cast Copper (PCCC) conductors, proprietary multi-gauge geometry, dual-layer shielding, and gold-plated copper connectors, Aqua MKII is designed for reliable current delivery and reduced electrical interference.

Developed specifically for demanding audio components, the Aqua MKII combines Clarus conductor technology with a secure, high-retention IEC connection for reference-quality stereo and home theater systems.

Key Features

  • Pure Continuous Cast Copper (PCCC): High-purity copper conductors manufactured for low electrical resistance and excellent conductivity.

  • High-Current Construction: Designed for power amplifiers, receivers, and powered subwoofers with substantial transient current demands.

  • Multi-Gauge Conductor Geometry: Combines multiple conductor sizes to support current delivery during dynamic musical passages.

  • Alternating-Twist Architecture: Proprietary conductor winding designed to reduce magnetic-field interactions.

  • Dual-Layer EMI/RFI Shielding: Helps minimize electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference.

  • Vibration-Damping Dielectric: Specialized insulation formulated to reduce AC-induced mechanical vibration.

  • Gold-Plated C1100 Copper Contacts: High-conductivity copper contacts engineered for low resistance and corrosion protection.

  • High-Retention IEC C15 Connector: Raised-collar design provides a secure connection to compatible equipment.

  • Premium Connector Housing: Machined POM construction with brass and carbon-fiber shielding.

  • Heavy-Duty Strain Relief: Reinforced connector construction for long-term reliability.

  • Sold Individually: One high-current AC power cable per purchase.

Engineered for High-Current Audio Components

Power amplifiers and powered subwoofers can draw significant current during demanding musical passages. The Clarus Aqua MKII uses a proprietary combination of conductor sizes to accommodate these transient demands while maintaining a low-resistance electrical path.

Its Pure Continuous Cast Copper construction incorporates long, continuous copper crystals with minimal grain boundaries. Clarus combines this material with alternating-twist conductor geometry to reduce magnetic interactions within the cable.

The result is an AC power cord specifically designed for high-performance audio systems.

Dual Shielding and Noise Control

The Aqua MKII incorporates two shielding layers to reduce unwanted electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference entering or leaving the cable.

A specially formulated dielectric helps dampen mechanical vibration associated with alternating current. These technologies work together to provide a carefully engineered power connection for sensitive audio equipment.

Clarus MKII High-Retention Connectors

The Clarus Aqua MKII features a North American Type B wall plug and an IEC C15 equipment connector.

Connector contacts and termination pins are manufactured from C1100 pure copper, with gold plating to resist oxidation. The proprietary high-retention IEC connector uses a raised collar that helps maintain a secure fit with compatible equipment receptacles.

The connector housing combines POM, brass, and carbon fiber for mechanical strength, vibration damping, and additional shielding.
