AudioQuest Yosemite RCA Interconnect Cable

The AudioQuest Yosemite RCA is a premium analog interconnect designed for high-resolution audio systems where preserving dynamics, low-level detail, and tonal purity is essential. Yosemite combines Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, FEP Air-Tube insulation, Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation, a 72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS), Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry, and cold-welded Direct-Silver-Plated Pure Red Copper terminations.

The addition of AudioQuest’s 72V DBS is especially significant. By maintaining a constant electrostatic field across the cable’s insulation, DBS is designed to reduce dielectric involvement and preserve a clearer, more immediate signal. Combined with PSC+ copper and FEP Air-Tube construction, Yosemite is engineered for serious analog systems where the interconnect should contribute as little distortion as possible.

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors

Yosemite uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), AudioQuest’s highest-grade copper conductor material.

Solid conductors prevent the electrical and magnetic strand interaction found in conventional stranded cables. AudioQuest’s extremely pure PSC+ further minimizes distortion associated with grain boundaries and surface discontinuities while contributing to more linear RF Noise-Dissipation.

72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS)

A defining feature of Yosemite is AudioQuest’s 72V Dielectric-Bias System.

Insulation surrounding a conductor acts as a dielectric and can absorb energy before releasing it back into the signal at slightly different times. AudioQuest’s DBS maintains a strong, stable electrostatic field that continuously polarizes the insulation, reducing dielectric involvement without requiring a signal to pass through the DBS battery pack itself.

The DBS system also incorporates an RF Trap derived from AudioQuest’s Niagara power products, preventing radio-frequency noise generated around the DBS field elements from being induced into the signal conductors.

Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Yosemite uses Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation to address radio-frequency interference before it reaches your audio components.

Three alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetic materials effectively “shield the shield,” absorbing and reflecting RF energy before it reaches the layer connected to the equipment’s ground reference.

This approach is designed to prevent captured RF energy from contaminating the ground plane and masking low-level musical information.

FEP Air-Tube Insulation

Yosemite surrounds its positive conductors with FEP Air-Tube insulation.

The design creates almost no physical contact between the conductor and insulation. Since air absorbs very little energy and FEP offers excellent dielectric characteristics, the construction minimizes dielectric interference and helps preserve transient response, dynamics, and fine detail.

AudioQuest intentionally treats the negative conductor differently, using a “lossy” insulation approach optimized for the different electrical role of the negative connection.

Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry

Yosemite employs Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry, specifically engineered for single-ended RCA applications.

Rather than using a single path to perform both ground and shielding duties, AudioQuest separates these functions. The design provides relatively lower impedance on the ground and is intended to produce cleaner, quieter, and more dynamic performance.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

Every internal conductor in Yosemite is Direction-Controlled to reduce RF noise.

AudioQuest determines conductor orientation during manufacturing as another element of its overall Noise-Dissipation strategy, helping minimize the amount of induced RF energy reaching sensitive audio circuitry.

Cold-Welded, Direct-Silver-Plated Pure Red Copper Terminations

Yosemite features Direct-Silver-Plated Pure Red Copper RCA terminations.

The silver is applied directly to the high-purity copper without an underlying nickel layer, avoiding another potentially distortion-inducing material at the connection point. AudioQuest then uses its cold-weld process instead of conventional solder, further reducing the number of materials encountered by the signal.
