AudioQuest Robin Hood ZERO is a high-performance speaker cable designed for full-range use or the treble section of a properly configured bi-wire system. Moving beyond the Rocket Series, Robin Hood introduces AudioQuest’s ZERO-Tech, along with 100% Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), Carbon-Based Linearized Noise Dissipation, 72V Dielectric-Bias System with Level-X RF Noise-Trap, and premium cold-welded terminations.

ZERO-Tech

The defining technology in Robin Hood ZERO is AudioQuest’s ZERO-Tech.

Traditional speaker cables have a fixed characteristic impedance, which can create an impedance mismatch between the amplifier, cable, and loudspeaker. AudioQuest designed ZERO-Tech specifically to eliminate the cable’s fixed characteristic impedance.

By minimizing interaction between the conductors and insulation, ZERO-Tech is designed to allow uncompressed transient-current transfer while improving linear RF Noise Dissipation across a wide bandwidth.

In practical terms, AudioQuest’s goal is to let the amplifier communicate with the loudspeaker with fewer cable-induced restrictions on dynamic current.

100% Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+)

Robin Hood ZERO uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors throughout.

PSC+ is AudioQuest’s highest-grade copper. Its extreme purity and exceptionally smooth conductor surface are designed to minimize distortion caused by grain boundaries.

Using solid conductors also eliminates electrical and magnetic strand interaction, avoiding a source of dynamic distortion inherent to conventional stranded cable construction.

Carbon-Based Linearized Noise-Dissipation System

Robin Hood ZERO employs AudioQuest’s Carbon-Based Linearized Noise-Dissipation System (NDS).

Multiple shields and a carbon-based resistive network are used to dissipate RF energy across an extremely wide bandwidth. Remaining RF energy is directed away from sensitive amplifier circuitry through the cable’s direction-controlled signal and shield conductors.

This is particularly important in modern listening environments filled with RF energy from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular devices, computers, switching power supplies, and other electronics.

72V Dielectric-Bias System with Level-X RF Noise-Trap

Robin Hood ZERO incorporates AudioQuest’s 72V Dielectric-Bias System (DBS) with Level-X RF Noise-Trap.

The dielectric—or insulation surrounding a conductor—can store electrical energy and introduce nonlinear behavior. AudioQuest continuously biases the insulation to maintain a stable electrostatic environment around the conductors.

The integrated Level-X RF Noise-Trap takes the concept further by helping draw RF noise out of the cable before it can affect the connected audio circuitry.

Foamed-Polyethylene Insulation

Robin Hood ZERO uses Foamed-Polyethylene insulation with a high percentage of air.

Because air absorbs very little energy and polyethylene itself is a low-loss material, this construction minimizes dielectric energy absorption around the conductors, helping preserve clarity, focus, and low-level information.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

All Robin Hood ZERO conductors are controlled for RF-noise directionality.

AudioQuest determines the proper conductor orientation and uses it as an integral part of the cable’s Noise-Dissipation architecture, directing induced RF noise away from the circuitry where it can cause the most distortion.

Cold-Welded Red Copper Terminations

Robin Hood ZERO also represents a significant termination upgrade.

Rather than the SureGrip connectors used on the Rocket Series, Folk Hero cables are cold-welded directly to extremely pure Red Copper spades or bananas. AudioQuest applies pure silver to the bare copper termination, avoiding lower-grade intermediary metals.

Important Note About Bi-Wiring

Robin Hood ZERO can be used as a full-range cable, but AudioQuest also designed it to work as the treble cable in a dedicated bi-wire configuration.

For bi-wiring, AudioQuest specifically recommends combining Robin Hood ZERO with Robin Hood BASS. AudioQuest cautions against running two ZERO cables in parallel because this can create a high-frequency resonant peak.
