AudioQuest Mackenzie RCA Interconnect Cable

The AudioQuest Mackenzie RCA is a premium analog interconnect engineered for systems where preserving low-level detail, dynamics, and tonal accuracy matters. Mackenzie combines Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation, Hard-Cell Foam insulation, Triple-Balanced Geometry, and cold-welded Hanging-Silver over Pure Purple Copper terminations. Together, these technologies are designed to reduce distortion and RF interference while allowing more of the original signal to reach your system intact.

Mackenzie is an excellent match for higher-performance DACs, network streamers, CD players, preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, and other analog components where a basic interconnect can become a limiting factor.

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors

Mackenzie uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), AudioQuest's highest-grade copper conductor material. Solid conductors eliminate electrical and magnetic interaction between individual strands, while the extreme purity and exceptionally smooth surface of PSC+ minimizes distortion associated with grain boundaries.

AudioQuest also designs PSC+ to improve linear RF Noise-Dissipation, contributing to cleaner and more naturally detailed signal transmission.

Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation

One of Mackenzie's most important upgrades is its Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System.

Rather than relying solely on conventional shielding, three alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetic materials are used to absorb and reflect RF energy before it reaches the shield connected to the component's ground. This helps prevent captured radio-frequency noise from modulating the system's ground reference and interfering with the audio signal.

Hard-Cell Foam Insulation

Mackenzie uses Hard-Cell Foam (HCF) insulation, nitrogen-injected to create air pockets around the conductors. Since air and nitrogen absorb very little energy, less energy is stored and released back into the signal.

The rigidity of HCF also helps maintain consistent conductor geometry along the entire cable, stabilizing its electrical characteristics and further reducing distortion.

Triple-Balanced Geometry

AudioQuest's Triple-Balanced Geometry provides a dedicated ground-reference conductor so the cable's shield never has to function as an inferior signal conductor.

Three conductors provide the positive and negative signals with equally high-quality, low-distortion conducting paths. This architecture is retained whether Mackenzie is terminated as an RCA or balanced XLR interconnect.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

Every conductor in Mackenzie is Direction-Controlled as part of AudioQuest's Noise-Dissipation strategy. AudioQuest controls conductor orientation to manage variations in RF impedance and direct induced noise away from areas where it can contribute to distortion.

Directional markings on the connectors indicate the intended signal orientation during installation.

Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver over Pure Purple Copper Terminations

Mackenzie takes a substantial step beyond conventional gold-plated RCA connectors with Hanging-Silver directly over high-purity Pure Purple Copper terminations.

The connectors are cold-welded to the conductors using high pressure rather than conventional solder. This avoids introducing solder into the signal path, while the high-quality base metal and direct silver plating are designed to preserve signal integrity through the termination itself.
