AudioQuest Yukon RCA Interconnect Cable

The AudioQuest Yukon RCA is a premium analog interconnect designed for high-performance audio systems where clarity, dynamic contrast, and low noise are critical. Yukon combines Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductors, Polyethylene Air-Tube insulation, Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation, Triple-Balanced Geometry, and cold-welded Hanging-Silver over Pure Purple Copper terminations.

Compared with simpler AudioQuest interconnect designs, Yukon makes an important move to Polyethylene Air-Tube insulation, reducing the amount of dielectric material surrounding the conductors. Combined with AudioQuest's best copper and advanced RF-noise management, Yukon is engineered to deliver a cleaner, clearer, and more naturally detailed analog signal.

Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) Conductors

Yukon uses Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+), AudioQuest's highest-grade copper conductor material. Its extreme purity and exceptionally smooth surface are designed to minimize distortion caused by grain boundaries.

Using solid conductors also eliminates electrical and magnetic interaction between individual strands—a significant source of dynamic distortion in conventional stranded cable designs. AudioQuest also uses PSC+ to maximize linear RF Noise-Dissipation.

Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation

Yukon incorporates AudioQuest's Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System.

Three alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetic materials work together to absorb and reflect RF energy before it reaches the layer connected to the equipment's ground. Rather than simply shielding against interference, the system is designed to prevent captured RF energy from modulating the component's ground reference and introducing additional distortion.

Polyethylene Air-Tube Insulation

One of Yukon's most significant technologies is Polyethylene Air-Tube insulation around both conductors.

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor can absorb energy and later release some of it as distortion. Because air absorbs almost no energy, AudioQuest increases the air content around Yukon's conductors to minimize this effect.

The Air-Tube design also helps stabilize conductor geometry, improving clarity while preserving transient response and dynamic contrast.

Triple-Balanced Geometry

Yukon uses AudioQuest's Triple-Balanced Geometry, which incorporates a separate ground-reference conductor so the cable's shield never has to serve as an inferior signal conductor.

Its three-conductor architecture provides the positive and negative signal paths with equally high-quality, low-distortion conductors. The same fundamental geometry is maintained whether the cable is terminated with RCA or XLR connectors.

Direction-Controlled Conductors

All of Yukon's internal conductors are Direction-Controlled to reduce RF noise.

AudioQuest controls conductor orientation to manage RF impedance variations and help direct induced noise away from areas where it can cause distortion. Directional markings on the connectors indicate the intended orientation when installing the cable.

Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver over Pure Purple Copper Terminations

Yukon features Hanging-Silver directly over Pure Purple Copper RCA plugs, minimizing the amount of dissimilar material encountered at these critical connection points.

AudioQuest cold-welds the terminations rather than using conventional solder. This high-pressure connection eliminates solder from the signal path, while the combination of high-purity copper and direct silver plating is designed to minimize connector-induced distortion.
